Dr. Dylan Babcock

Ph. D., Pennsylvania State University, 2025

B. Sc., St. Lawrence University, 2019

Dylan grew up on a small farm in upstate New York, where he grew to appreciate hard work and being outside whenever possible. He went on to St. Lawrence University, earning a B.S. in Chemistry and Mathematics in 2019. As an undergraduate, he conducted research with Dr. Larry French which sparked his interest in organic synthesis and hands-on problem solving.

Dylan completed his Ph.D. at Penn State as a founding member of the Nacsa laboratory, where he helped establish the group’s photochemistry capabilities and developed light-driven aryl migration chemistry. In the MacMillan group, he’s excited to build on this background at the interface of synthesis and chemical biology.

Outside of lab, Dylan is usually in the gym, reading, fishing when he can, and always keeping music on in the background.
