Amy Chan

B. Sc., Yale, 2019

Amy was born and raised in New York City, where she gained her first experience in organic synthesis as a high school researcher in the lab of Professor Keith Woerpel at New York University. There she worked on the development of methods for the synthesis of organic peroxides. She ventured east for college at Yale University, conducting research on C–H functionalization in the lab of Professor Jonathan Ellman. Upon graduating in May 2019 and enjoying a brief summer vacation, she began her graduate studies at Princeton University, joining the MacMillan group in July 2019. In her spare time, Amy enjoys staying active, traveling, and catching up with friends and family.

Fun Facts
  • The summer after her sophomore year of college, Amy studied abroad in Bilbao, Spain for 4 weeks, then travelled to 18 European cities in 4 weeks.
  • Amy can move just her ears, without moving any other facial feature.
  • Amy put her college education to good use and took classes to become a certified bartender.
