Inji Park

Inji was born and raised in Seongnam, South Korea. She moved to California in 2019 for her undergrad and received a B.S. in chemistry from UC Berkeley. During her time at Berkeley, she worked in Prof. T. Don Tilley’s group on synthesizing strained nanographene structures and worked in Prof. Daniel Nomura’s group on discovering new covalent ligands for proximity-inducing therapeutics. Inji also participated in a medicinal chemistry internship at RAPT Therapeutics in the summer of 2022. Outside of the lab, Inji enjoys cooking, baking, and trying out new restaurants.
Fun Facts
- Inji decided to become a chemist despite coming from a family of engineers – the apple fell far from the tree.
- Sometime during middle school, Inji decided to spontaneously exile herself to the island of Jeju to finish the remainder of middle school and high school.
- Inji hates cucumbers and can detect the slightest smell of cucumber from very far away.
- As a certified dessert snob and former pastry shop owner, Inji will willingly overanalyze every aspect of any dessert she finds nearby
