Johnny Wang

B. Sc., Boston College, 2021

Johnny was born and raised in Eugene, Oregon. Wanting a change in scenery after high school he attended Boston College for his undergraduate degree. Freshman year Johnny joined the lab of Shih-Yuan Liu. A year later, Johnny decided that he wanted to work on different chemistry and joined the lab of James Morken. With Dr. Morken, Johnny primarily worked on two projects: synthesis of alpha-borylallenes through the stereoselective conjunctive cross coupling of 1,3 Boryl enynes, and synthesis of enantioenriched alkyl boronic esters by copper catalyzed cross coupling of vicinal diborons. Outside of lab Johnny enjoys watching and playing basketball, eating good food, and enjoying nature.
