Dr. Patrick Sarver

Patrick Sarver was born and raised on Long Island in Centerport, New York. He completed his undergraduate studies at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, from which he received a B.A. in chemistry in 2014. While at Wesleyan, Patrick worked on the development of enantioselective organocatalytic reactions in the research group of Professor Michael Calter. Following graduation, he worked as a medicinal chemist at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) in Cambridge, Massachusetts. After just shy of three years in oncology drug discovery, Patrick moved to Princeton to join the research group of Professor David MacMillan. Outside of lab, Patrick enjoys cooking, ultimate frisbee, hiking, skiing, and playing guitar.

Fun Facts

• For some unknown reason, Patrick chose to become a Mets fan as a young child. It hasn’t been easy…
• The train from Patrick’s hometown to Penn Station takes slightly less time than the train from Princeton, which means he consistently underestimates the amount of time it will take to get to New York.
• Patrick occasionally breaks out into the intro riff from “Party in the USA” on guitar, without even realizing it.
